Ambitech’s Procurement Group is a key component in our ability to fully service our clients’ needs throughout a project’s lifecycle. Our Procurement Group is the nerve center for all client equipment and materials purchases, when selected to do so – as well as for all internal capital purchases and office services. Our procurement activities include buying project equipment and materials on our own paper; doing the same on our client’s paper, as Agent; completing client requisitions and executing purchase orders; generating requests for qualifications and bids; completing bid tabs; and providing commercial recommendations. Our work is fast-paced and highly varied.  

Like other groups within Ambitech, our procurement personnel get involved early in most client projects – almost at the same time that our engineers begin project estimating. This upfront involvement helps our procurement staff better understand the scope and type of packages that will need to be developed, what equipment and materials will require long lead times and overall scheduling constraints, what specifications are going to be used, and what bidders list will be used – our client’s, Ambitech’s, or some combination of the two. All of this provides input so that an effective Procurement Plan is developed as the roadmap for any project’s procurement activities.

Every day is different. These words are likely the best ones to accurately describe what it is like to work in Ambitech’s Procurement Group. Because of the fast-paced nature and wide variety of our work, individuals who can readily multi-task, have excellent communication skills, are customer-oriented – both to internal personnel and external client personnel, and are flexible enough to change direction and priorities on the fly are often best suited to contribute to the high quality procurement services we provide to our clients. Depending on one’s assignment you may be working on one project for a year or multiple projects for a much shorter duration. Either way, every day will be different.
