
Shannon received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University, an MS in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, and an MBA from University of Chicago. She is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and has over 30 years experience in process design and project engineering with E&C companies working on projects in the petroleum, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, ethanol, food and gypsum processing industries. Ms. Brown was elected due to her service to AIChE at both the local and national levels. Over the past 25 years she has served the Chicago Section as Membership Committee Chair, Publicity Committee Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Chair-Elect, Chair, Director-at-Large, Symposium Committee Chair, Constitution and By-Laws Chair, representative to the DuPage E-Week planning committee and delegate to Illinois Engineering Council. She was on the committee that proposed the National AIChE Women’s Initiative Committee.
Ambitech Engineering Corporation (Ambitech) is pleased to announce that Shannon E. Brown, P.E. was recently elected Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). The award certificate and pin were recently presented to her at the local AIChE/American Chemical Society monthly chapter meeting held at the European Conference Center, Arlington Heights, IL. The grade of Fellow is determined by vote of the National Board of Directors of the AIChE. The Fellow is awarded in recognition of significant professional accomplishment and contributions to the advancement of chemical engineering and the engineering profession.
